With Brett Favre landing in New York as the Jets new starting quarterback, someone had to go. That someone, as it turns out, was Chad Pennington. The Jets released Pennington Thursday, and it is rumored the Dolphins are interested in acquiring the former first round draft pick.

NFL quarterback, and then came the injuries. His arm/shoulder strength is
significantly weaker than it was to begin with. That being the case, it's
easy to understand why he lost his starting job last year with the Jets. I
know the Jets weren't as bad as Miami last year, but they certainly weren't
great. If the Dolphins ink Pennington, I don't want to see him take a single
regular season snap. I would only want to see him signed to educate Henne.
Even then, who knows what kind of money he's asking for. Depending on the
price, he may not be worth it. Really, if you're going to sign a veteran QB
for your younger guys to learn from, someone with a little bit higher
winning percentage would be better. I think Pennington is a waste of Miami's
time. Bring back Quincy!
